Chow Chow’s Invasion

In 2011 nearly 40 Chow Chow’s were seized. These dogs were just recently released by a judge, permitting them to be placed for adoption.

They were kept in a temporary shelter for over seven months, where they received medical care: examination, vaccines and appropriate care such as daily walks, handling and social contact. To date, most of them are normal and highly adoptable.

The Chow Chow is a little known and highly misunderstood breed along with misconceptions, is what gives the breed a bad name. It is true that the breed has basic particularities of its own, which must be understood and accepted to properly educate the animal, but thereafter, it is perfect harmony.

If you click on our dogs for adoption page, you will see we have several Chow’s, they are all adorable and are looking for a good home. At the end of this text you will find website links that will link you to experts on the breed, where you’ll, probably not unlike me, discover that they are not so different from others. Always keep in mind, the attention given to your pet, the amount of social contact it experiences and amount of love received may well affect such stereotypes of breeds.

Ps: Also note that the typical stereotype of the Chow Chow should not be viewed as a negative it is just the breed that is misunderstood
